Police registered a case under animal cruelty and sacrifice prohibition laws based on a complaint filed by Rohan Reddy Kasireddy.
WARANGAL: Mamnoor police have registered a case against a female aghori naga sadhu on charges of sacrificing a hen. The incident occurred on November 19 (Tuesday), at the Bestham Cheruvu graveyard in Khila Warangal, Warangal district, and came to light on Sunday.
According to Mamnoor SI N Krishnaveni, the complaint was filed by Rohan Reddy Kasireddy, who alleged that the female aghori had harmed and sacrificed a hen at the graveyard.
"The act is in violation of the Telangana Animals and Birds Sacrifices Prohibition Act, 1950, as well as the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and the BNS Act of 2023. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under Section 325 of the BNS Act and Section 11(1)(A) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act," said Krishnaveni.
